Amelia Linen Blend Short Sleeve Top
We designed the Amelia linen blend short sleeve top for those days when you want to look pulled-together without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight linen-viscose blend breathes beautifully in warm weather while maintaining its shape throughout the day.

Fabric & fit details

Fabric composition & breathability
The WAYF Amelia linen blend short sleeve top uses a carefully chosen 55/45 linen-viscose split to balance the best qualities of both fibers. Pure linen offers exceptional breathability but can wrinkle heavily and feel stiff when new; the viscose component softens the hand feel and helps the fabric hold its shape after washing.

Sizing & fit guidance
True to size with a relaxed cut
The Amelia fits true to standard US sizing with a slightly relaxed silhouette through the body. If you’re between sizes or prefer a closer fit, we recommend sizing down; if you want extra room for layering or a boxier look, size up. The shoulder seams sit right at your natural shoulder point, so sleeve length shouldn’t change dramatically between sizes.

Questions about the Amelia linen blend top
Yes, the natural linen content means the top will develop some creasing with wear, which is a characteristic of the fiber. The viscose blend helps minimize wrinkling compared to pure linen, but you’ll still see some relaxed texture throughout the day. Many people love this lived-in look, but if you prefer crisp fabric, a quick steam or cool iron on the reverse side will smooth it out.
The wrinkles are softer and less pronounced than what you’d see in 100% linen. We’ve found that hanging the top immediately after washing reduces creasing significantly.
Absolutely. The relaxed fit and crew neckline make it appropriate for business casual environments, especially when paired with tailored trousers or a pencil skirt. The linen blend reads as polished rather than overly casual, and the hip-length hem tucks neatly if you want a more structured look.
We’ve heard from teachers, designers, and office workers who wear the Amelia regularly to work. Layer a blazer over it for client meetings or presentations, and it fits right into more formal settings.
The fabric has enough weight that most customers wear it without a camisole underneath. In direct sunlight or with very pale colors, you might see a faint outline of your bra, but it’s not noticeably sheer in typical indoor or outdoor lighting. The linen-viscose blend is denser than lightweight cotton voile or gauze.
If you prefer extra coverage or plan to wear a contrasting bra, a nude or matching camisole works seamlessly under the top without adding bulk.
The Amelia has a classic crew neckline and short sleeves with a straight, relaxed fit through the body. Our Cara style is sleeveless with a button-front detail, while the Sienna has an oversized, drop-shoulder silhouette. The Riley is cropped and hits above the natural waist, and the Devon features gathered puff sleeves with a slightly more fitted waist.
All of our linen blend styles use the same 55/45 linen-viscose fabric, so the main differences come down to neckline, sleeve style, and overall fit. The Amelia is the most versatile if you’re looking for an easy-wear staple that works across multiple seasons and dress codes.
The top is pre-washed during manufacturing to minimize shrinkage, but any natural fiber can tighten slightly with heat exposure. As long as you wash in cold water and skip the dryer, you shouldn’t see noticeable shrinkage. We’ve tested the fabric through repeated wash cycles and measured less than 1% change in dimensions when air-dried.
If you accidentally tumble dry the top, it may shrink up to half a size. Steaming it while damp can help restore some of the length, but prevention is easier than correction — stick with air drying to maintain the original fit.
The Amelia works beautifully as a standalone piece in warm weather and transitions into cooler months with layering. Wear it under a cardigan or denim jacket in spring and fall, or layer a turtleneck underneath for winter if you live in a mild climate. The breathable fabric regulates temperature well, so it won’t feel too heavy indoors even when layered.
Some customers pack the Amelia for travel because it handles multiple climates and dress codes. The linen blend resists odors better than synthetic fabrics, so it stays fresh through long days of wear.
If you’re between sizes, think about how you plan to wear the top most often. Size down if you prefer a closer fit or plan to tuck it in frequently — you’ll still have comfortable room through the body, just less excess fabric. Size up if you want a boxier silhouette or intend to layer it over fitted tanks and tees.
The shoulder seams are the most important fit point. If your usual size puts the seam right at your shoulder edge, that’s your correct size. If it’s sliding down your arm, size down; if it’s pulling across your upper back, size up.
